The Carriage Hall is housed in a lovingly-restored Victorian Goods Shed which once served the former Plumtree Railway Station. The design of the Main Hall (housing 120 people), Mezzanine (44 people), and Saunders Room (16 people) retains a sensitivity to the building’s original objective, echoing the hard work and heritage of railway workers from the past.

I’m writing with my other hat on this morning to say a sincere thank you for all your support in making last Thursday night a huge success. I can’t begin to think how you managed to keep your temper given the continuous and unexpected demands you received but I wanted to reassure you that your help was not taken for granted.
Thank you so much for a brilliant evening on Friday! Everyone has been highly complementary about the party as a whole and the overall opinion is that it was much more relaxed than similar events in the past. Sir David is so enamoured of The Carriage Hall he wants the party to be held there next year! Now that I have smashed the mould with this year’s party, hopefully everyone will bring their dancing shoes next year! Thanks again to everyone, on whose backs I am currently basking in glory here! Tony Kent (who is currently in one of the Phonons 2015 conference sessions) was just telling me how absolutely fantastic he thought every aspect of the Carriage Hall Conference Dinner was last night – he asked me to let you know this as soon as I could. He said the venue itself was wonderful, the food and drink was absolutely excellent, and the quality of service was absolutely top-notch too. He was really impressed and thrilled with it, and we won’t hesitate to recommend the Carriage Hall to anyone who asks. Just a quick note to thank you and your team for helping to make our Ladies Evening such a fantastic event. You professionalism across all areas shone through, particularly how unobtrusive and unflustered your 'front of house' staff were. The food needless to say was also of the highest quality.
